The Level Up kick off meeting took place in Cham, Germany on the 28th and 29th November 2017. Level Up will explore game-based learning approaches to develop an interactive tool for use in guidance sessions with young people. This attractive approach will contribute to breakdown stereotypes around vocational routes being a ‘second choice’ to academic higher education, by highlighting that learning outcomes in vocational training are as varied and complex as those found in university courses etc. The project is implemented by 7 leading career guidance, technological and VET organizations: Aspire-Igen Group (Coordinator)and Caped Koala – UK, Cork Institute of Technology– Ireland, The Government Office of Békés County – Hungary, Business Foundation for Education – Bulgaria, Sataedu – Finland and VHS Cham– Germany.
The partners will develop a game which guides young people through the benefits of vocational training. At the same, the game-based tool will link into wider labour market information, in order to demonstrate to young people the value which vocational training has on long-term career progression.
